Potion, Waga Mi wo Tasukeru : Your New Fantasy Anime Adventure Begins in October
Project Introduction: An Animated Adaptation of a Popular Light Novel
The popular fantasy light novel series, "Potion, Waga Mi wo Tasukeru", is receiving an anime adaptation set to premiere in October 2025. The project, produced by IMAGICA Infos with animation assistance from Studio KAIBA and Imageworks Studio, is part of Animation ID's "Light Anime" initiative. This approach uses a simplified animation style to reduce production time and costs, a strategy previously employed on titles such as "Moriarty's Perfect Crime" and "Lockdown Zone: Level X."
The Plot: Reincarnation, Potions, and the Road Back Home
The story centers on Kaede, an ordinary high school student who unexpectedly finds herself reincarnated in a fantastical world teeming with beastkin, elves, and dragons. Lost and disoriented, she discovers a mysterious book that grants her the ability to craft potions by simply gathering ingredients and chanting the word “Create.” Using this newfound power, Kaede aims to survive in this new world while striving to find a way back home to Japan.
Origin and Other Adaptations
The light novel, written by Akira Iwafune, was originally serialized on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website between April 2014 and September 2024. Its success led to a printed version by publisher Shufunotomo, with illustrations by Yoshi Tobe. Ten volumes have been released to date, solidifying its position as a popular fantasy series among Japanese readers. A manga adaptation, also illustrated by Tobe, launched in September 2023 on the Hero Comics website and currently features 15 chapters.
