Engrossed in his family's traditional doll-making business, Wakana Gojou is a reserved high school freshman with no friends. Harboring painful memories of a friend's disdain toward his interest, Gojou finds it difficult to relate to his classmates and their pastimes, eventually isolating himself. While he has yet to perfect crafting dolls' faces, Gojou is exceptionally skilled at making their clothes. His finesse with the sewing machine is soon discovered by his classmate Marin Kitagawa, whose boldness and honesty Gojou admires and envies. She instantly shares her own hobby with Gojou: she loves to cosplay as characters from erotic video games. However, Kitagawa cannot sew her own costumes, leading her to seek Gojou's expertise. As he is now drawn into the charming girl's endless cosplay-related endeavors, Kitagawa becomes his first friend who fully accepts him. Thus, although polar opposites, their relationship slowly blossoms through their ability to help each other.
