Hell Teacher Jigoku Sensei Nube PLUS Concludes Its Short Promotional Series, Paving the Way for the Anime's Return
The Completion of "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube PLUS"
The short manga series "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube PLUS," an extension of the iconic universe of "Hell Teacher," will reach its end on June 25th with the publication of chapter 7 in Shonen Jump+. This brief but significant serialization launched on May 14th, primarily serving as a promotional bridge for the highly anticipated new animated adaptation of the franchise. The decision to conclude it before the anime launch is strategic, seeking to maximize anticipation and provide fans with a final dose of the Domori world before the new anime premieres. It will be published in a single collected volume on July 4th.
The Continuing Legacy of "Jigoku Sensei Nube" and Its Various Adaptations
"Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube" boasts a rich history that extends beyond the pages of the original manga. The series, written by Shō Makura and illustrated by Takeshi Okano, accumulated 29 million copies in circulation before being reorganized into 20 volumes. Over the years, it has been adapted into an animated series (1996-1997), an OVA series (1998-1999), and three animated films. Additionally, it had a live-action adaptation in 2014. The franchise further expands with spin-offs like "Reibaishi Izuna" (10 volumes) and “Reibaishi Izuna Ascension” (10 volumes), as well as the manga "Jigoku Sensei Nube Neo," which had 17 volumes, and a new series called "Jigoku Sensei Nube Kai."
The Animated Return: Details of the New Anime
The new animated adaptation, produced by Studio KAI, promises a modern twist on the classic, maintaining the original charm while updating the setting and interpretations of the 5-3 Class students. The anime will feature Ryōtarō Okiayu voicing Nube, reprising his role, adding a nostalgic layer to the new series. Broadcast will be in two parts (cours), with the premiere being a one-hour double episode on July 2, 2025, followed by the second part in January 2026. This strategy ensures prolonged exposure and allows for a deeper exploration of the "Hell Teacher Nube" universe for viewers.
