After years of anticipation, the light novel and manga series "There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, So I Tried Confessing to Her" is officially receiving an anime adaptation in 2026. The news was confirmed by a teaser video released on Sunday and the announcement of a global distribution deal with Crunchyroll.
The story follows Yōki, an underling of the Demon Lord who finds himself falling for Cecilia, a priestess in the hero's party. He tries to confess his love, setting the stage for a unique and heartwarming romance.
Key Production and Voice Cast
An impressive team has been assembled to bring this story to life. Yasutaka Yamamoto will serve as chief director, with Tomonori Mine directing at the studio Gekkō. The series composition and scripts are handled by Yukie Sugawara, while Mina Ōsawa adapts the original character designs by La-na. Music is being composed by Satoru Kōsaki and MONACA, with Ryō Aizawa producing the series at Starry Cube.
