Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota is a charming romantic comedy that follows the unlikely relationship between two classmates who couldn't be more different. Oota-kun is the class clown, a student who wears his emotions on his sleeve and whose every thought is clearly visible on his face. He's often in trouble for his mischievous schemes and lack of focus, but with a grin, he sets his sights on a new challenge: his classmate Kashiwada-san.
Kashiwada is the exact opposite of Oota. She is a mysterious and unreadable girl whose face never shows any emotion. Amused by her placid demeanor, Oota makes it his mission to get a reaction out of her, but his attempts to scare or prank her always hilariously backfire.
Despite their contrasting personalities, the two form a unique and heartwarming bond. As Oota's genuine affection slowly begins to draw out a smile from the unreadable Kashiwada, their relationship blossoms, exploring whether opposites truly do attract.
