The highly anticipated anime adaptation of the manga The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess (Tensei Akujo no Kuro Rekishi) is set to premiere on October 8th at 00:00 JST (effectively October 9th). The official website launched its third promotional video, giving fans a new look at the upcoming series.

The new trailer offers a feast for the senses, with scenes from the anime and snippets of both the opening and ending theme songs. The opening theme, "Black Flame," is performed by KID PHENOMENON of EXILE TRIBE, and the ending theme, "Rengene," is by Zerofrom.

A Story of Survival in a Created World
Based on the popular manga by Akiharu Tōka, which has sold over 1.7 million copies, the story follows Konoha Satou, a young writer who dies in a traffic accident and is reincarnated as Iana Magnolia—the villainess of her own story. Trapped in a world she created, she must use her knowledge of the plot to survive numerous "death flags." The plot thickens with the appearance of a new character, Yomi, whom Konoha doesn’t remember writing, raising the question of who she can truly trust. The original manga has been translated into English by Yen Press, who describe it as a romantic comedy with a dark twist.
