Hobby Japan has officially announced that the series, written by Metabo Hagure and illustrated by masami, will be brought to the screen. The light novel follows Elizabeth Leiston, the daughter of the influential prime minister of the Kingdom of Haldoria. Destined to be the future queen, her life crumbles when her fiancé publicly breaks off their engagement, imprisons her, and spreads damaging rumors. However, far from becoming a defenseless victim, Elizabeth finds inspiration in her loyal maid, Mireille, and her own fury. She then reconsiders her goals: to take revenge on those who betrayed her and to bring down the kingdom that wronged her. Fortunately, Elizabeth is not a damsel in distress; she possesses seven powerful magical grimoires that she is determined to use.
The Source Material and its Anime Adaptation
The story began as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in October 2020. A light novel adaptation was released in May 2022, published by Hobby Japan under their HJ Novels imprint. To date, seven volumes have been published, with an eighth scheduled for next Tuesday. Around the same time, Imo Ōno launched a manga adaptation on Comic Fire, also in May 2022, with seven collected volumes already available in Japan.
